Nathan Paul

Nathan has been counsel in our Calgary office since 2001. Nathan maintains a practice exclusively focussed on employment and labour issues. Nathan primarily represents and advises employees on all types of employment and labour law issues with a specialized focus upon wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, non-competition and non solicitation agreements and, short and long term disability claims.

Nathan is a graduate of the College of Law of the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to joining Sawers McFarlane Nathan practised with a boutique law firm in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, where his practice focussed primarily upon Workers'                                                                      Compensation, and insurance matters.

Nathan has successfully appeared before virtually every level of court in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut including: the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Northwest Territories Territorial Court, the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories, the Northwest Territories Court of Appeal, and the Nunavut Court of Justice. Nathan was called to the Bar of Alberta in 2001, having previously been admitted to the Bars of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in 1999 and 2000 respectively.

Outside of the law, Nathan maintains an active interest in numerous sports, and volunteers with the Calgary Downtown Association.
