Paula Kay
Paula has been counsel in our Calgary office since 1999. Paula's primarily represents employees in all areas of employment law, and has significant experience related to wrongful dismissal, and employee insurance and disability claims.
Paula obtained her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to joining Sawers McFarlane Paula articled with Calgary Legal Guidance, an organization committed to providing legal advice and representation to disadvantaged Calgarians who would otherwise be unable to have access to the justice system. Paula continues to volunteer her time with Calgary Legal Guidance, and recently received an Award of Merit for her volunteer service.
Paula has represented clients at all levels of court in Alberta, including the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen's Bench, and the Court of Appeal. Additionally, she has appeared before, and made submissions to numerous tribunals including the Labour Relations Board, Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal, Employment Insurance Appeal Panel, and the Alberta Workers' Compensation Board.
Paula's hobbies include hiking, skiing and playing hockey. She is married, and has one daughter.
